It’s that time of the year when you, as budding lawyers, are looking at summer clerk gigs.
In the words of our newest admitted lawyer, Rachael (last week, congratulations Rachael!) we are a fun and quirky firm with “12/10 bants” and a great team culture. Rachael said she is pleased she hasn’t had just “a typical law firm experience”. She really enjoys the wide and interesting range of work, the ability to work one on one with partners and the fact that all junior lawyers are encouraged to get involved, particularly in New Zealand’s emerging tech start-up scene. Another favourite part is “sometimes the partners buy you coffee which is noice”.
At HGM, we think it’s important to try a range of different legal work while you’re still figuring out how you want to use your law degree, so we have you covered with a summer clerk program that allows you to work in corporate, commercial, litigation and other areas of tech, media and IP.
Despite our seemingly low key approach to hiring, our approach to law resonates with our amazing clients, most of whom are (or soon will be) local and international household names - do Amazon, TVNZ and Vodafone ring any bells - to shamelessly name drop a few.
So, if this sounds like you then we look forward to receiving your application. Don’t be scared of the video requirement – we just want to get to know you!
If you're looking for a grad role then toss your hat in the ring via the summer clerk process as well. We've previously found great graduate talent via our summer clerk process.
Applications close 5 April. Click here to apply.
