The protection of intellectual property rights are critical in the creative sector.  Ultimately these are the rights that get creative projects funded and allow creative talent to get paid and earn a living.  The rapid change in technology and digital media creates a host of new opportunities and challenges for the creative industry in terms of how works are created, produced and commercialised.   To better understand the role copyright and registered designs play in this changing creative landscape, the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment is carrying out a study of a creative sector and how it interacts with the copyright and designs regimes.  The results of the study will be used to identity potential copyright or design issues relating to the creation, production and commercialisation of creative works and to inform future Government policy (and law).  If you are in the creative industry, this study is something you should contribute to.
